Education
What is in your school record?
An education record can include information about a pupil's academic achievements, correspondence and major disciplinary incidents, i.e. exclusions.
A child can ask for a copy of their school record.
You can ask for copies of your personal information, or that of your child by submitting a subject access request (SAR). To make your application for a subject access request, you can use this letter template guide produced by the Information Commissioners Office.
]
If you believe that the educational needs of your child are not being met, you should contact the school to discuss this with them. Here is an introduction to Education, Health and Care needs assessments process
If you have been unsuccessful you can apply for an Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment. Get a model letter download, by clicking the link below.
